L-event is the eleventh EP by Autechre released on Warp Records. It was available digitially on October 11th, 2013, and physically on October 28th, 2013.[1]
History
On July 11th, 2012, The Designers Republic posted an announcement that they were completed design work for L-event.[2][3] L-event was officially announced on September 16, 2013 for a October 28th release date with a entry on autechre.ws.[4][5][6] On October 11th, when visiting autechre.ws, the page would corrupt by resizing text and replacing images with L-event's cover, whilst playing the new EP's music ahead of release. The site was set up as a proxy such that when applied to other sites, those would experience the same corruptions.[7][8][9][10][11] Physical copies would release as per the announced date, with the USA getting it a day later.[12] The initial plan was for L-event to be released before Exai, however Warp switched around the release dates.[13]

tac Lacora
- "tac Lacora" was edited down by Sean within a week, with the original live jam recorded a few months earlier. [14]
- Much of the track's dynamics were achieved in realltime with mostly envelopes "changing according to conditions" and "a ton of bus compression". [15]
M39 Diffain
- In an interview with The Quietus, Rob explained that much of "M39 Diffain" was mostly constructed out of found sounds: "rain, New York, bits of city life, bits of weather, direct recordings of rain on certain objects mic'd-up."[16]
Osla for n
- "Osla for n" was done during the night.[17]
- Sean kept the technicalities of the formant synthesis type of sounds under warps saying it was some other weird method, however he did note that "the source was white noise".[18]
