Trivia

  • Cavity Job is one of only two Autechre releases to have a title track, with the other being Gantz Graf.
  • The cover of Cavity Job features a man wearing sunglasses and holding a drill, and was drawn by Dave Hanal.
  • In an interview from 1995 for URB Magazine, Hardcore Records was described as a con that immediately filed for bankruptcy and fled soon after the release of Cavity Job, meaning they earned nothing from the record. In the same interview Sean mentioned that it was "the worst record we ever did!".
  • [OPINION, NEEDS SECOND PASS] There are some controversy regarding the position of Cavity Job in the discography, given that if this is taken as the first EP Autechre released, it would invalidate some of the naming conventions of other EPs, such as making EP7 the 8th EP.There are some arguments to consider it an single, however its inclusion on EPs 1991 - 2002 indicates that it is officially seen as an EP. Another argument rephrases that Basscad,EP is the first EP released on Warp Records, and thus all proceeding EPs "numbering" is based on the fact that it is released on Warp Records.
