Envane is the fifth EP by Autechre, released by Warp Records on January 27th, 1997.[1]
Background
In a 1997 interview with Pulse! magazine, Sean explained that all of the tracks started off from the same basis. However, over the course of their development each track became more and more distinct until they were left completely unrecognizable.
Tracks
Goz Quarter
- "Goz Quarter" samples Dr. Octagon's "No Awareness", a side project of Kool Keith. The sampled line was confirmed by Kool Keith to be "Watch you jam like Autechre".[1]
- According to Rob, the scratching on the track was achieved with real vinyl.[2]
Latent Quarter
Laughing Quarter
- Vinyl pressings of Envane with an XAE B-side matrix feature an alternate outro for "Laughing Quarter" different to the one on the digital release.
Draun Quarter
