Anvil Vapre is the fourth EP by Autechre released on Warp Records. It was originally released on October 2nd, 1995.[1]
History
All the tracks were individually made in a day.[2]
Music Video
In a Metal Magazine interview, Autechre noted that Sean was the one to get Chris Cunningham onto Warp. Sean noted that while making Anvil Vapre, much of the designs made by Chris acted as inspiration for the music. [3]
Tracks
Second Bad Vilbel
- Bad Vilbel refers to the German spa town. Sean notes that while he has never been to the particular town, he knows of it because "it's twinned with glossop which lies on the manchester end of the A57, or snake pass as it's known locally (the road that goes from manchester to sheffield)"[4]
Second Scepe
- Second Scepe was featured in the video game Sleeping Dogs.
- The sample on "Second Scepe" is a voice, however Sean would not answer whose.[5]
Second Scout
Second Peng
Tracklist
# | Title | Length |
---|---|---|
1 | Second Bad Vilbel | 9:47 |
2 | Second Scepe | 7:45 |
3 | Second Scout | 7:23 |
4 | Second Peng | 10:53 |
Total | 35:53 |
Trivia
- On the original double vinyl issue and on streaming services, the track titles "Second Scepe" and "Second Scout" have been swapped with each other. This is an error - the actual lengths for "Second Scepe" and "Second Scout" are 7:45 and 7:23 respectively.
Credits
