AE_LIVE is a compilation of twenty-eight soundboards records taken from live shows performed in 2014 and 2015. The first four of the sets were released on October 29th, 2015 exclusively to Autechre's store, before being updated with another five in December 8th, 2015 and then finally amended with 19 sets from the North American leg of the tour (known as AENA) on January 30th, 2019.

Material

Much of the material on the 14/15 live shows have elements and tracks that were later officially released on elseq 1-5 and NTS Sessions 1-4. Two major tracks that regularly appeared in the shows that were mostly identical to their final versions were "c16 deep tread" (example) and "sinistrail sentinel" (example).

In addition, there were multiple apperances of other tracks that were either heavily remixed alternate versions, such as "c7b2" (example), "pendulu hv moda" (example), "violvoic" (example), "north spiral" (example), "artov chain" (example), and "nineFly" (example), or had elements lifted from the tracks such as "t1a1" (example), "acdwn2" (example), "g 1 e 1" (example), "7th slip" (example), and "wetgelis casual interval" (example).

Trivia

• There are some soundboards from the 14/15 tour which was not released with the compilation, noteably Glasgow (1 November 2014), Minehead @ Bloc 2015, Barcelona @ Sonar 2015 and Amsterdam @ Dekmantel Festival 2015.[1]
• Sean mentioned that there's DMX drum sound in the 2015 live shows "but nobody ever comments on them". [2]
• For the Incunabula, Amber and Tri Repetae reissues, a copy of AE_LIVE_GRAFENHAINICHEN_170715 was also provided.[3]
• Some sets that were highlighted by Sean in interviews were the Los Angeles set for the LA times[4] as well as the Orlando and Montreal sets for the Hanalgig AMA[5]. Although Sean also noted the New York gig "was terrible".
